पंजाब के अश्विनी कुमार चमके IPL में

नई दिल्ली: अश्विनी कुमार के आईपीएल पदार्पण मैच में चार विकेट लेने और रयान रिकेल्टन के नाबाद 62 रनों की बदौलत मुंबई इंडियंस ने सोमवार को वानखेड़े स्टेडियम में कोलकाता नाइट राइडर्स को आठ विकेट से हरा दिया।

कल मुंबई और केकेआर के बीच खेले गए मैच में मुंबई ने केकेआर पर पूरी तरह से दबदबा बनाया। हालांकि एक बार फिर रोहित शर्मा जल्दी आउट हो गए।

मुंबई ने पहले गेंदबाजी की और अपनी गेंदबाजी से केकेआर पर भारी दबाव बनाया। 23 वर्षीय अश्विनी कुमार ने आईपीएल में पदार्पण करते हुए चार विकेट लिए, जो कल के मैच में अपनी टीम के लिए सबसे ज्यादा विकेट लेने वाले गेंदबाज बने।

पंजाब के झंजेरी का 23 वर्षीय बाएं हाथ का तेज गेंदबाज अपने आईपीएल पदार्पण में चार विकेट लेने वाला पहला भारतीय बन गया, जिसने केकेआर के बल्लेबाजी क्रम को ध्वस्त करते हुए 3-0-24-4 के आंकड़े हासिल किए।

आईपीएल में पदार्पण से पहले सिर्फ़ चार सीनियर टी20, चार लिस्ट ए गेम और दो रणजी ट्रॉफी मैच खेलने वाले अश्विनी के प्रदर्शन ने एमआई की गेंदबाज़ी की क्षमता को दर्शाया। दीपक चाहर (2/19), ट्रेंट बोल्ट (1/23) और हार्दिक पंड्या (1/10) ने केकेआर को ठोस समर्थन दिया, जिससे टीम 16.2 ओवर में 116 रन पर ढेर हो गई, जो इस सीज़न का सबसे कम स्कोर था।

बल्लेबाजी में रोहित शर्मा एक बार फिर कुछ खास नहीं कर सके और 12 गेंदों पर केवल 13 रन बनाकर आंद्रे रसेल का शिकार बने।

मुंबई के नवोदित बल्लेबाज आर. रिकेल्टन ने शानदार प्रदर्शन करते हुए 41 गेंदों पर 61 रन बनाए। उनकी पारी की बदौलत मुंबई ने 12.5 ओवर में ही लक्ष्य हासिल कर लिया।

रोहित शर्मा के 13 रन पर आउट होने के बावजूद, रिकेल्टन (41 गेंदों पर 62*, 4x4s, 5×6) ने अपने पहले आईपीएल अर्धशतक के साथ टीम का नेतृत्व किया। सूर्यकुमार यादव की 9 गेंदों पर 27* रन की शानदार पारी, जिसमें अंत में एक छक्का भी शामिल था, ने 7.1 ओवर शेष रहते MI की सीज़न की पहली जीत सुनिश्चित की।

अश्विनी ने अपनी पहली ही गेंद पर अजिंक्य रहाणे (11) को आउट कर दिया, उसके बाद रिंकू सिंह (17), मनीष पांडे (17) और आंद्रे रसेल (5) को आउट किया। बोल्ट और चाहर ने पहले दो ओवर के अंदर सलामी बल्लेबाज क्विंटन डी कॉक (1) और सुनील नरेन (0) को आउट कर दिया था।

इस जीत का मुंबई के नेट रन रेट पर सकारात्मक असर पड़ा है। अपने तीन मैचों में से सिर्फ़ एक में जीत के बावजूद वे अब अंक तालिका में छठे स्थान पर आ गए हैं।

कुल मिलाकर, मुंबई ने कल के मैच में गेंदबाजी और बल्लेबाजी दोनों में अच्छा प्रदर्शन किया।

NEW DELHI: Ashwani Kumar’s remarkable four-wicket haul on his IPL debut, along with Ryan Rickelton’s unbeaten 62, propelled Mumbai Indians to an eight-wicket victory over Kolkata Knight Riders at Wankhede Stadium on Monday.

In yesterday’s Mumbai vs KKR match, Mumbai completely dominated KKR. However, once again, Rohit Sharma got out early.

Mumbai bowled first and put enormous pressure on KKR with their bowling. Ashwani Kumar, 23, made his IPL debut and claimed four wickets, becoming his team’s leading wicket-taker in yesterday’s match.

The 23-year-old left-arm seamer from Punjab’s Jhanjeri became the first Indian to take four wickets in his IPL debut, finishing with figures of 3-0-24-4 to demolish KKR’s batting order.

With only four senior T20s, four List A games, and two Ranji Trophy matches prior to his IPL debut, Ashwani’s performance demonstrated MI’s bowling prowess. Deepak Chahar (2/19), Trent Boult (1/23) and Hardik Pandya (1/10) provided solid support as KKR folded for 116 in 16.2 overs, a season low.

In batting, Rohit Sharma couldn’t do much once again, scoring only 13 runs off 12 balls before falling to Andre Russell.

Mumbai’s debutant batsman R. Rickelton played brilliantly, scoring an impressive 61 runs off 41 balls. Thanks to his knock, Mumbai chased down the target in just 12.5 overs.

Despite Rohit Sharma’s early removal for 13, Rickelton (62* off 41, 4x4s, 5×6) led the chase with his first IPL fifty. Suryakumar Yadav’s stunning 9-ball 27*, including a six at the end, secured MI’s first win of the season with 7.1 overs to spare.

Ashwani struck with his first ball, removing Ajinkya Rahane (11), before adding Rinku Singh (17), impact sub Manish Pandey (17) and Andre Russell (5) to his tally. Boult and Chahar had earlier removed openers Quinton de Kock (1) and Sunil Narine (0) inside two overs.

This victory had a positive impact on Mumbai’s net run rate. Despite winning only one out of their three matches, they have now moved to the 6th position on the points table.

Overall, Mumbai performed well in both bowling and batting in yesterday’s match.
